In 2003, Barbara called me at home. She said she was going to move out of town and needed to sell her house in Hillcrest Park. This was the house where she had conducted annual pachysandra sales to raise money for the Democratic Women's Club and support Democratic candidates. Barbara said she only wanted to sell her house to a loyal Democrat, and would Judy & I be interested? Judy & I went over to see the house. It was a fine brick Tudor, but too big for us, and we had no use for its large indoor swimming pool. Barbara persisted by calling others, and sure enough she found Joel & Kimberly Kaye, who bought the house and still live there, surrounded by Democrat pachysandra

Dear Peter, Samia and Roger,
Here at the old Bloch homestead we are saddened to learn of Barbara's passing. She was a beautiful person who made our home town (and our actual home) better, and our lives are enriched for having known her. We will continue to think of Barbara often with fondness, as we have over these last ten years, and have lit a candle today at 87 Hillcrest in her memory. Our sympathy and love goes out to you all.
Kimberly, Joel and Dara
