Barbara "Bonnie" T. Bonneau

Barbara T. "Bonnie" Bonneau, age 78, passed away on January 16, 2024 in Massachusetts. Bonnie was born on March 2, 1945 in Washington, Missouri. Her family subsequently moved to South Florida. She is survived by her son, David C. Buckley and daughter-in-law, Kelly Pesce from Lake Worth Beach, FL, sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" Delaney from Plymouth, MA, sister, Babette Strecker and brother in-law, Richard Strecker, MD, from Cohasset, MA, brother, Edward "Buzz" Bonneau, Jr. from Sarasota, FL, brother Stephen "Beau" Bonneau from Los Angeles, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale and then attended St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana. She also studied abroad for two years in France and Spain. After college, Bonnie spent some years living in Maine and North Carolina after which she returned to Fort Lauderdale and was a long-time resident in the Victoria Park neighborhood. Bonnie worked for Broward County as a Civil Engineer where she retired from after 35 years of service.

Bonnie was a devout Catholic who attended St. Anthony's Church. She loved people and that is evidenced by the many friends she had. She was adored by everyone she met. She loved gardening and orchids and was an active member of the Fort Lauderdale Orchid Society. She loved animals and believed in adopting animals in need. Her last love was Alice, her Chihuahua, whom she cherished.

A Memorial Mass will be said in Bonnie's honor at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Ft. Lauderdale.
