Dr. Barbara Brodie PhD., RN.

Barbara was so gracious and kind to me from the first day I met her in 2015 at the Bjoring Center for Nursing History.

Barbara Brodie was terrific! So sorry learn of her loss.

I had the great honor and privilege to work closely with Barbara when she was chair of the maternal-child health department of the UVA School of Nursing when I joined the faculty in 1971. It was my first faculty position. Barbara had an immense impact on my early years as a novice teacher and researcher. We stayed in close touch over the years and I benefited greatly from her guidance and mentoring throughout my career. Most recently, I visited her at her retirement home in Fall 2021 where we had lunch together and spent time reminiscing about UVA, nursing history, and family.
