I still miss Aunt Barb! I think of her so often and find myself reaching for my phone to call her, just like I did for my mom for years after she passed.
She was one of my very favorite people in the word

Barbara was one of a kind. She was my brother Ryan's grandmother and she opened her heart and home to us from the beginning. She was a strong and generous soul. We would get so excited on the drive to her house to go swimming. It was like we were going she was our grandma. She treated us like her own. My special memories of her were her baked goods every Christmas. The fudge was the best and her peanut butter kiss cookies never lasted a day. They were the first to go. Nobody did it like she did. I still think of her goodies every Christmas. It didn't matter how many years it went by if I ever saw her in public she always recognized me and took the time to say hello. I loved her as she was my own grandmother. I will miss her and always think of her.

I have a dear place in my heart for Aunt Barb. When I was small I remember the road trip from Pontiac to Walden Road, which seemed to me as if my mom´s siblings owned it. It seemed like an eternity to get there, but when we did she always made me and my sisters feel so welcome. She had what seemed to most to be a tough exterior, but a huge heart, as most who knew her would tell you. On birthdays and Christmas as a kid I always received a card with a 5 or 10 dollar bill. For me that was a fortune. I never forgot that kindness and was always grateful. She stayed close with us all and I remember my mom talking daily to her. She was a good sister. She raised three wonderful boys with Uncle Byron, and they all have her heart and quick wit. She´ll be missed by many and I´m so fortunate to have shared so many special times with her. She lived as she pleased and left the world the same way. I´ll miss her dearly.
