Barbara Clement

Barbara (Galida) Clement of Springfield passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. She was 81 years old. Barbara was born in Bridgeport, Ct., on October 11, 1934, the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Currie) Galida. She was a graduate of Stamford High School. Barbara worked for the State of Massachusetts as a Social Worker and retired after many years of service. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her former husband Arthur Clement and a sister Shirley Young. She is survived by four devoted children Lorna Chapdelaine and her husband Eugene of Weare, N.H., Arthur Clement of Nashua, N.H., James Clement and his wife Cindylou of Chicopee, and Cynthia Tourville and her husband David of Montgomery, three caring sisters June Mead of Hadley, Lucille Woodtke and her husband Jack of Springfield, and Jeannette Nanai of Danbury, CT., and she leaves 8 cherished grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will honor and remember at Barbara at a Funeral Home Service on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4-7p.m. at the funeral home.
