Early in her career, this amazing woman served as the prosecutor when I was assaulted. When the original staff covering my case failed to pay attention, Barbara was assigned to cover it and she went out of her way to make sure that I was kept informed of what was going on and that my safety and recovery were a priority. To this day, she remains my hero and I am forever grateful for her efforts on my behalf. My condolences to her family and friends.

Words cannot convey what Barbara meant to so many in this community. She was a powerhouse, an absolute force to be reckoned with who presented as fearless and bold. She was the embodiment of the phrase, "fight the good fight." And it didn't matter what side of an legal battle she was on, Barbara simply put her all into it and set an example and a standard for those who followed. She was also a mentor who never turned away the opportunity to guide others in the pursuit of justice. Barbara was always ready with advise or guidance and happy to share it with you, even if you had just met her. But most importantly, she was friend to so many, myself included. I enjoyed our lunches, though there were not nearly enough. I enjoyed sitting with her in her office discussing cases, and was so thrilled when she moved out to the Key Peninsula. I am so sorry we never found the time to get together at your place and that life took me to the other side of the mountains in pursuit of a job your support helped me obtain. Like so so many others, I will miss you.
