Rich and Courtney, it has been many years since we have spoken but we were neighbors and friends for a long time in Brunswick. Barb and Courtney spent a lot of times hanging out with my daughters and I. We all have memories of lots of fun times. Penny a pound night at the ground round, hanging out in our respective driveways having an adult beverage and watching our girls play, and having each others kids over to play inside in the winter. She made the greatest Halloween costumes for Courtney when she was little and had a great smile. When rich was working out of town, she always cooked his favorite dinners when he returned for the weekend. I hope that your many happy memories will carry you through the days ahead. I know that barb would want you to move forward and enjoy life just as she did.

Barbara was a big inspiration esp. in the fight for breast cancer. She walked the walk and talked the talk. I admired her for the kookie outfits and her loving personality. She was a fighter with a positive attitude. When The Lord took her by the hand we lost a blessed lady but he received a heavenly angel. With deepest sympathy for your loss.

My heart goes out to the family of Mrs. Cox. I do not know Mrs. Cox personally, but I know her face. I worked at Memorial for almost 8 years and she was a constant face in the hallways. Having run the Komen race the past 3 years, she was also a familiar face in the crowd. I am sure those that knew her were very blessed in having known her. God Bless Mrs. Cox, her family, and her loved ones.

I am so sad to hear that this champion for breast cancer survival lost her battle so soon. Barbara was an inspiration to me, also a breast cancer survivor. She immediately came to me bearing funny gifts to lift my spirit when I announced my diagnosis back in 2006. I loved her fun-filled outfits during holidays! What a crazy nut! Nobody can replace her spirit for costume flare that's for sure! I will miss her greatly, but more importantly, the "cause" will miss her, for which she worked tirelessly. My deepest sympathy to her husband and Courtney.

Courtney -
I was stunned when I learned the news last night while at church. When I got home, I searched for this photo as it was one of your mom's favorites and mine and symbolic of how I'm sure she'd like to be remembered. I recall her mentioning she had stayed up through the night so she could register online first. She was so proud to sport that #1 on her flamboyant Komen outfit that year. I can still see it vividly.
I'll miss seeing Barbara walking here daily in our Southbridge neighborhood and I want you to know she'll remain #1 in many hearts for many reasons. She was a woman that not only was an inspiration for those battling cancer but a remarkably outgoing and energetic person that brightened many days with her cheerful and positive spirit.
God's plan is perfect and never to be fully understood. I was blessed to have crossed paths with her and I know others feel the same.
Prayers for you and your family's comfort are being sent today and in the days to come.

Dale and I am so sad to hear of your mother's passing. We were so certain she would make it through. Courtney it's hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing you were a special part of her life. Dale and I ache for you and if you want to talk we are here for you any time. We don't know what else to say but she was a precios person and was alsways there for us when April died, and she had such a big heart for everyone, and loved by so many. We will miss her along with so many others. Life will not be the same without her. But God needed her more than we did, she was called to heaven for a special reason. She will be with her granddad and they will watch over you and your Dad. We love you dear. God will help you through this difficult time.

I am shocked, and blown away by the sudden loss of Barbara. I have known her daughter for 17 years, and know that apples don't fall from their trees, and she is a saint. I am very sad that because of this, I never got to meet her. I feel like I've known her forever.... to hear of this incredible loss just breaks my heart. Heartfelt sympathies to EVERYONE she left behind, and those she touched in so many caring ways. May God guide you now Barbara. God Bless...
