I lost touch with Barb over the years as I moved around and I thought of her today. And I thought, I wonder what's happening for her? I knew she wasn't well the last time we talked and so I got to see if there was an obituary and there is. I will always appreciate Barb's mentorship and kindness. Her salmon soufflé recipe, and just a wonderful conversations we had. and I appreciate that she believed in me.

Barb was a unique individual; warm and friendly, generous to a fault, sometimes as stubborn as a mule, and I loved her very much. She was reluctant to follow anyone else's path; she liked to make her own. She was my kind of woman.

Barb Crowley was a great help to me when I was first affected by low vision in older age. I attended her support groups which were always very fun and helpful. Barb generously shared her valuable time and insights on the phone with me getting to know me well and my personal struggles. She was a kind person dedicated to helping others and living a truly meaningful life.
