Barbara J. Ecklund

Barbara J. Ecklund, 71, died at her home Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013.

Barbara Joan Butturff was born April 23, 1942, to Lloyd and Minnie (Twentyman) Butturff in Rochester. Barbara lived in Sargeant, and graduated from Hayfield High School. She married Roger Ecklund on Jan. 29, 1960, in Sargeant. Barbara worked for the City of Rochester in the Building and Safety Department for many years. She lived in the Stewartville area for over 50 years and was a very active member in the Racine United Methodist Church.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with the family.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Darlya (Michael) Mathews of St. Anthony and Gordon (Tammy) Ecklund of Cannon Falls; her four grandchildren, Jessica (Nathan) Kuisle of Stewartville,, Jordan (Madeline) Ecklund of Rochester, Erin Mathews of St. Anthony and Tobias Mathews of St. Anthony; one great-grandchild, Gannon Kuisle; a sister, Linda (Chuck) Willihnganz of Rochester; two brothers, Richard (Barb) Butturff of Elgin and Brian (Julie) Butturff of Menomonie Falls, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Racine United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery in Racine.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Racine United Methodist Women.
