Barbara J. Goetz, 79, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015. Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson, Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Barbara was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Wilkesboro, N.C., the daughter of the late, Robert and Etta Minton. After graduation from Wilkes Central High School, she moved to Washington, D.C., to accept employment with the FBI. She met and married James H. Goetz, a soldier stationed at Fort Meade, Md., on May 31, 1958. They raised three sons while moving frequently for Jim's military service and employment in the electronics field. They came to Texas in 1972, where Barbara worked and retired from the EPA. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arlie and Russell Minton. Survivors: Husband, James "Jim" H. Goetz; sons, Randolph James and wife, Melyndia, of River Oaks, Andrew and wife, Lisa, of Huntley, Ill., and Steven and wife, Lana of Denton; grandsons, Brandon and wife, Linzy, of Lavon, Nathan of Arlington; stepgranddaughters, Michael Allison Foster and Megan Botterman; brothers, Dale Minton of Glen Mills, Pa., Thomas of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters, Betty Jo Leisey of Surfside Beach, S.C., Nancy Kilby of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Judy Curtis of Marshal, Va.
