Dear Profesor HASKEL, Today I visited the European Parliament with my family and kept thinking about you. Thank you so much for everything that you taught me. You were such an inspiring profesor, very knowledgeable and passionate. You marked my life with your kindness. Thank you for it.

I had the pleasure to take two political science classes with Professor Haskel when I was an undergraduate student at McGill at the end off the 1990s. She was a demanding but inspiring professor. I was therefore very sad to learn about her passing in the latest McGill News. I offer my most heartfelt sympathies to her relatives. May she rest in peace.

Barabara Haskell was my teacher in the late 1980's and I keep a fond memory of her. She certainly was the political science teacher that had most influence on me. Tnak you and farewell, Barabara.

I just recently heard the very sad news about Barbara's passing. My heart goes out to her family and friends at this very sad time. I was fortunate to work for Barbara for many years in the Political Science Department and came to know her as a kind, caring and generous person (and a very good cook!). She was a lovely lady and will be missed greatly. My deepest sympathy

Barbara was our friend for three decades, celebrating Jewish holidays together, casual dinners - and enjoying many operas.

As a fellow Brooklynite at McGill, I always enjoyed my interactions with Barbara -- she was always willing to share her great wisdom without being intimidating, remember the old neighborhood, and she loved the give and take of a good discussion. My wife Maria remembers with fondness many wonderful outings they took together, including one when they got lost on the way back to Montreal from Vermont! Barbara will be missed, but not forgotten because she really did make a difference in the lives of so many people! Deepest sympathies to the family.

Barbara has been our dear friend for about forty years. Like her, we were transplanted Americans in Montreal. We shared so many interests and times together it would be impossible to recount them. She will be terribly missed by us both.

Barbara added new dimensions to the meaning of "friend," bringing new people together over dinner at her house for good food and conversation, erecting bridges between university colleagues. Seized by ideas and research questions, her warmth, curiosity and probing questions will be missed by her many friends.

Barbara Haskel was a long ago neighbor, a longtime friend and an inspiration for well in excess of 50 years. Her brilliance was only matched by her love for her family and her compassion for those in need.
Barbara will be missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing her, learning from her and sharing her love.

My father got to know Barbara Haskel during his student days at Harvard, but she became a friend of the entire Skoie family through her many visits to oslo (Norway) throughout the years. For us Skoie-girls she became a kind of American aunt. My son still plays with a Tonka-jeep that Barbara gave to me more than forty years ago. Barbara's visits were full of talk about Scandinavian politics (not always fun for us children), but also cultural events - concerts and museums. We remember these visits - as we will Barbara - with great fondness. On behalf of the Skoie family, Mathilde

Barbara was a dear friend and colleague for more than 50 years. We met at Harvard in October 1965 as fellow graduate students. We continue to share many academic and political interests. Her hositality during many visits to Montreal (and occasionally to us in Amherst, MA) was greatly valued. We will miss her. R.I.P. Kirsten and Eric Einhorn
