I love you my Mom so very much. I'm becoming more like you as I age - in good ways that I finally understand. I miss you everyday.
Love and kisses, Jo

My Dad and your Dad were best buddies. Freddie was a mensch, a man like no other. I was living in FL with Daddy so I had opportunities to interact with your wonderful parents. The day before your Dad passed I spoke with him on the phone. His voice was weak but his message was strong and insightful. He gave strength with his kindness, compassion and kibbitzing. Daddy was asked to say a few words at the memorial but Daddy sat with his head down. He was physically and emotionally worn and deeply hurt. We went out to dinner with your Mom. I loved hearing her stories. My Mom passed June, 2005 so all my parent's friends became my chosen family. The relationships became stronger when I moved from MA to FL. I was going thru a divorce, Daddy's health was declining so we cared for one another. Playing Bridge Mondays With Freddie and the usually group was usually a great, uplifting day. The men joked with me when I drove Daddy to the clubhouse and did pick-up at 4pm. Plans may include dinner together which was a delight for all.
Today, I decided to call your Mom to say hi. Had she received the vaccine? I had not spoken with her since I was cleaning out my parent's home. As soon as I heard the message about the phone number, whatever it said, I knew something changed. I hoped your Mom moved to assisted living or in with family. With shaky hands I typed your Mom's name searching Google. I am so deeply sorry for the losses.
What wonderful friendships were created at Indian Spring. My Daddy passed on Yom Kippur September, 2018. We were each other's net, confidant, supporter and trusted friend. I am thankful Covid-19 cannot hurt them I wish I could have conversations about our government and the world chaos. I so miss the joking and serious conversations at the breakfast table.
I hope you are keeping safe and are well. I pray your memories bring you enormous joy.
Warmest regards,
Kathi Wachtenheim
