Greenville - Barbara Ann (King) Irvine was born in Knoxville, TN on September 2, 1939 and passed away on December 8, 2023 at the age of 84 in Greenville, SC with complications from

Parkinson's Disease. Barbara (Bobbie) was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William (Bill) E. Irvine, and is survived by her children, David Irvine (Amy), Melissa Roach (Thom), and Jennifer Moore (Wayne), ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her brother, Thomas King (Jeanette). Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Barton Bias King and Ollie Christine King.

Bobbie graduated in 1957 from East High School in Knoxville, TN where she was a member of Sub Deb Sorority and served as an officer in the Latin Club and Junior PTA. She married Bill in 1957 and worked in medical records at UT Hospital for three years. She spent years devoted to raising her children and then returned to school to pursue her life-long dream of becoming a nurse. She completed the nursing program at Union University in 1983 and was a recovery room nurse at Jackson Madison County General Hospital for 23 years until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of the Tennessee Society of Perianesthesia Nurses and served as president for two years.

Bobbie was a member of First Baptist Church Jackson, TN and the Women's Golf League at Woodland Hills Country Club. She also enjoyed traveling and ballroom and country western dancing.

A memorial service will be held for Bobbie at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at First Baptist Church Jackson, TN.
