Barbara Elaine Johnson

JOHNSON Barbara Elaine (Turner) Johnson, 66, departed this life on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Born October 12, 1945 in Urbancrest, Ohio, Barbara attended Urbancrest Elementary and Grove City High School. Baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Urbancrest, she reunited with the Lord later in life. After high school, she married Alfred Johnson, Sr., and to that union had six wonderful children. Retired from Columbus Developmental Center (CDC), Barbara enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking for family and friends, and was an avid BINGO player. She just loved life and was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Preceded in death by daughter Stephanie, parents Coleman and Marie Turner, brothers Ronald, Leon, Lawrence, Robert, and Kenneth, and sisters Mildred, Ossaleen, Doris, and Margaret. She leaves to cherish in her memory, four sons, Alfred (Yvette) Johnson, Eric Johnson (Teresa), Andrae (Andrea) Johnson, and Steffon Johnson (Laura); one daughter, Monica Johnson (Howard); nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; brother, Ralph Turner; sister, Donna Burgess; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 2 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2011, in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E.
