Barbara Kimbrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2025.
October 30, 1943 - July 5, 2025

With deep love and heartfelt sorrow, the family of Barbara "Ann" Kimbrell announces her passing on July 5, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born on October 30, 1943, Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Stella McDonald Kimbrell and Donnie Ray Kimbrell. Throughout her life, she embodied warmth, grace, and quiet strength - values she carried into every relationship and every role she held.

Ann was a devoted mother to her only daughter, Vickie Grant, and a loving mother-in-law to Kyle Grant. Her greatest pride and joy were her three grandsons - Benton, Drew, and Ryan - and she later embraced the special role of great-grandmother to Summer, who brought light and laughter to her final years.

She is survived by her dear brother, Robert Kimbrell, and was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny and Hershel Kimbrell, whose memories she held close to her heart.

Ann also had a special bond with her many nieces and nephews, cherishing the time she spent with them, especially in her later years. She offered them the same love, wisdom, and support that she gave to everyone in her life.

A lifelong fan of the University of Alabama, Barbara was rarely seen without a crimson shirt on game days. She cheered on the Crimson Tide with passion and pride, win or lose - though she preferred the wins.

Ann's legacy is one of deep love, quiet resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a host of family and friends whose lives were made better by her presence, her laughter, and her generous heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ann's memory to St. Jude's Hospital, reflecting the kindness and compassion she showed throughout her life.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered - Roll Tide.
