BARBARA KRAFT Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2013.
KRAFT, BARBARA MCLARTY - age 82, of Cincinnati, Ohio, went home to be with Jesus, and her husband of 59 years, Francis A. Kraft, on Thursday, June 13, 2013. She was born in Rochester, New York, grew up in Buffalo, and graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy. She raised four children who were the light of her life, as were her six grandchildren. She loved holidays, golfing, reading, and volunteering, especially at Fort Loudon Medical Center. One of her favorite places was Cape Cod, with her fondest memories of "the big white house" overlooking the bay in South Wellfleet. When they retired, they spent many happy years on Skidaway Island in Savannah, Georgia, and then in Tellico Village in Loudon, Tennessee. She had a heart of gold and always put others needs before her own. She had a smile that could light up a room and she made friends easily. If you were Barb's friend, you were a friend for life! Her most cherished times were spent with her family and friends. She was known for her quick wit, love of God, artistic and creative talents, spirit of adventure, courage and generosity of spirit. She was well versed with the latest technology and was proud to know how to use a Kindle, iPhone, laptop, and iPad. She even had her own Facebook page. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Donald McLarty of Sparks, NV; her four children, Jeffrey Kraft (Toni) of Cincinnati, OH, Kathryn Kraft of Pleasant Valley, NY, Kenneth Kraft (Wendy) of Atlanta, GA and Anne-Marie Glover (Rob) of Loveland, OH; her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan (Candace), David (Lindsey), Jessica, Kelsey, and Michael Kraft and Emma Glover; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 22, from noon - 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, TN, with Father Doug Owens officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or Guiding Eyes for the Blind (www.guidingeyes.org).
