It's opening day and the Cardinals are playing. Every year when the Cardinals play their first game, I think of Barb, my fantasy baseball partner.

I was very sad to learn today (9/5) that Barb has passed away. I worked with Barb for many years at Northbrook and NUA, and we were very good freinds. When Barb left the insurance business, she became very hard to get a hold of, and I lost track of her. I never lost my affection for her, and I always hoped she would find happiness. I know she intended to devote her time taking care of her niece's down syndrome baby. I hope she found fulfillment in that. I know there is a special place in heaven for Barb, and although I pretty much expected never to see her again, I am sad to learn her life came to such a premature end. Many of her friends in the insurance industry share my sentiments, and it would be comforting to know a little more about the circumstances. What caused Barb's death? Did she suffer? Had she found happiness? What was she doing with herself ? Anything you can offer would be most appreciated. Meanwhile, please let meknow if there is anything I can do.
