Barbara Louise Mason

Barbara Louise Mason New Smyrna Beach - Barbara Louise Mason (Warren) passed away on March 6th, 2023, after bravely battling cancer for many years. She was born on January 4th, 1965, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Daughter of parents Joseph Anthony Warren (1903-1980) and Theresa Agnes Warren (Turner). She was preceded in her death by sister Connie and brother Dino. Barbara is survived by her loving daughter Ashley Lynn Malin (husband Jonathan Malin), son James Anthony Mason (wife Kristen Mason) and Husband of 39 years James Howard Mason, among other very close relatives and friends: including the Warren and Mason families, dear friend Valerie Christiana and three step-grandchildren Heidirae, Brooklyn and Nolan Malin. Her dogs and favorite fluff balls Bella and Pepper will also miss her dearly.

Barbara unconditionally and unselfishly loved her children and supported them all her life through the many highs and difficulties of their lives. She also made it her mission to care for the staff with whom she worked with at Ocean Breeze, a restaurant her son is dedicated to, and she was happy to help him by being manager there. Prior to managing the restaurant, she was a talented hair stylist for many years. Clients and co-workers from salons and her career working with Farouk Systems always brought her joy.

Barbara had many interests and hobbies including shell hunting on Sanibel Island, scalloping in Steinhatchee, playing the slots in Biloxi, shrimping and fishing right here in New Smyrna, looking for shark teeth in Fernandina Beach and spending time with her family.

To her daughter she leaves her kindness, sarcastic wit and complete naivety. To her son she leaves her strength, stubbornness and work ethic. To her husband she leaves her undying love, unfathomable gratitude and their two beautiful children who love him more than words can ever describe.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at Ocean Breeze (521 Flagler Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169) on March 21st, 2023, at 5:00pm. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers and cards a small donation be made to the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum in Sanibel Island, one of her favorite places or Pop Warner Cuda Sponsorship, through which she, along with her husband, supported both of their children in football and cheerleading programs throughout their youth.

Barbara will be desperately missed by all those that she's left behind. Our hearts are broken by this loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
