Sincerest condolences to the maxwell and van den Bogaard family.

I really only knew Barb through the few summertime visits at Michelle and Leo's in Osoyoos. She had a calm, peaceful energy and an easy smile and laugh. It was obvious that family and faith were paramount to her. My deepest condolences to the Maxwell and van den Boogaard families.

I had the pleasure of working with Barb at the Richmond campus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2001/2002. I always remembered her wonderful and quirky sense of humour, her warm heart, and her strong faith. She was an inspiration. She encouraged me to continue to try to have a child, even though I was 39 at the time. Barb shared her experience with Vincent, who she had at 41, and I remember a special twinkle in her eyes when she spoke about him. I took her advice, and I was able to have a son at 41. He is also a treasure.

I hope that all who know Barb will reflect on the beautiful influence she had in your respective lives, and feel reassured that Jesus is taking care of her now.

Dear van den Boogaard/Maxwell Families.
It is with sadness we read of Barbara's passing. We remember her in our teen years, in a youth group with Father Leo Wenk at St. Paul's in Richmond. She had crossed paths with a few of our family members in the last few years. A very compassionate person.
We extend our deepest Sympathy and heartfelt Condolences to all the family.

Although I did not know Barb as well as I would have liked. I did visit her a few times during her illness. I always left filled with hope. She never said "why me" but rather "why not me" And lived her life, especially in her final years with Grace and Dignity. She was an "amazing lady". Her children are fine examples of the Mother/Wife she was. God bless her and her family

She taught me to look beyond the obvious and to find the good in all! She would often say, "there's always a gift" "we just have to look fo it!" What a legacy!
I see a beautiful place in heaven full of celebration because she's home!
Our thoughts and love are with all of you!
Maria and Raffi!
