Barbara McCollom

Barbara Jo McCollom, 78, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Evansville, IN. She was born in Tell City on March 20, 1946, the daughter of the late Helen (Brown) Cunningham and Arthur Cunningham.

She attended Tell City High School and Oregon High School of Oregon, IL, class of 1964, where she met the love of her life, Jim. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and mamaw. She loved spending time trucking with her husband, she was also a cook alongside her sister at the former Snappy Grill where they were famous for their pies. After retiring, she spent many years as an Avon representative, having long chats with customers and making new friends. Barbara enjoyed sewing, solitaire, puzzles and crosswords, studying her ancestry, and watching British TV series. She loved spending time with and doting on her family and pets.

Barbara is survived by her loving family; two children, Kathy and Brad; five grandchildren, Sam, Chris, J.T., Brent, and Austin; 12 great-grandchildren, including Haley, Savannah, Colten, Brayden and Elizabeth; and a number of in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, and family friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, James McCollom, in 2017; two siblings, Mary Ann Robbins and Arthur "Bud" Cunningham; and infant great-grandson, Isaac McCollom.

Per Barbara's wishes there will be no services. Memorial contributions can be made to Rivers Edge Animal Shelter in Cannelton, IN.
