Barbara Lucille Dye Moorfield, 89 of Fairmont passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home. She was born on October 24, 1933 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Norman and Lucille Embry Dye. Barbara was a secretary for Howard and Hoffman Insurance for many years. She then graduated from the Berkeley School of Theology becoming an ordained American Baptist minister. She loved the Lord, going to church and singing in the Choir. She was a certified scuba diver and enjoyed being in the water. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs, cooking large meals for the holidays, collecting angels and seashells, and she always saw the good in everyone. Barbara traveled several countries doing missionary and spreading the word and love of her Lord in Israel, Bolivia, and Haiti. Barbara is survived by two children, Joseph Weiss Jr. and companion Maggie of Newry, PA; Wayne Weiss and wife Tracie of Fairmont; two sons-in-law, William Cochran of Lebanon, PA, and David Wood of Wheeling; seven grandchildren, Christopher Singer and wife Sherea, Davey Wood and wife Jamie, Daniel Wood and wife Megan, Michael Weiss and wife Jocelyn, Beth Weiss, Tyler Weiss and Brandon Weiss; ten great grandchildren, Hudson, Adelyn, Devon, Tyler, Maddix, Braxton, Kaylee, Harper, Evan and Joshua; one brother, Norman Edwin Dye of Annapolis, MD; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Claude E Moorfield on June 14, 2007; two daughters, Janet Cochran and Cheryl Wood; one great grandchild, Samantha. Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:30AM with Pastor Lynn Cartwright. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WVU Medicine Betty Puskar Breast Care Center PO Box 9300 Morgantown, WV 26505-9300.
