When I was very young our family decided to go to the beach...actually it was the ocean (slightly different). Apparently I was playing too far out in the water when a wave came splashing in and took me under. I went round and round until Charlene noticed what was happening and came running in to save me. Had she not been paying attention, the outcome could have been very different. I also enjoyed visiting her dress shop and becoming the recipient of several dress. What fun it was to receive the clothes and be in style all at the same time. I had some new clothes for church and also to take back with me to Bolivia. Charlene never had alot of extra things around but she did care about people and tried to make their lives happier. I remember her going to the nursing home to sing and play the piano to bring some joy and the love of Christ to those who were shut-in. When her children were young she had to work to keep the family going and because of her long days of work she would set aside time on the weekends to take them to the beach, along with some of their cousins taking along some homemade sandwiches of one sort or another (probably peanut butter and jelly). She loved her family and was very proud of each of them. She has now gone on to her reward but she is waiting and watching for you to join her some day soon. Don' t disappoint her but be ready to go when it comes your time. Good-bye Charlene, until then.

My friendship with Barbara dates back more than 60yrs. She brings back a little
song, This Little Light Of Mine I'm Going To Let It Shine, and she did just that. I'll
truly miss her. I was blessed to have her as my very good friend. She is at rest.

I will always remember you from your 'glamour' days when you owned the dress shop and let me come pick something out one summer when I was home visiting with my parents (from Bolivia). You told me that I was the perfect height to be a model and that if I lived closer, I could model your dress shop clothes for you! That has stuck with me since 8th grade. You always made me feel so beautiful. I will always remember you. Rest in peace Aunt Charlene.
