Barbara Ann Salisbury

Barbara Ann Salisbury (formerly Caprice, Sunshine, Ebletoft), 72, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home before the clock struck twelve on December 31, 2024. She was born on October 11, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA, and was a 64-year resident of Nevada.

Barbara began her career in casinos at Caesar's Palace, Caesar's Tahoe, and Nevada Palace. Her field widened during years at Caprice Realty and CityWide Reservations. She returned to finish her casino career as the Assistant Comptroller at Fitzgerald's and Binion's Horseshoe. Finally, timing and community brought her to the LVMPD Police Managers and Supervisors Association, where she was proud to work hard on behalf of union members.

She did everything from partying with Elvis and skiing black diamond slopes to raising Rottweiler puppies and rivaling any gardener or seamstress's skill. Many adventures and mischievous good times came from her ideas and determination.

Barbara loved her neighborhood, her state, and her country. She despised bullying and bigotry of all kinds. She really hated Donald Trump. She would have wanted you to know that.

She will be deeply missed by many whose lives she touched, including friends, neighbors, and her family.

Preceded in death by her mother and best friend, Betty E. Caprice, Aunt Mary Mellon, and cousin Kathleen Shaw, she is survived by her husband, Dan Salisbury, their daughter Kristen Salisbury, and grandson Miles Gunther.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law Barbara Salisbury and Linda McMahan of Las Vegas, beloved cousins Dorothy Acito, of Las Vegas, Alma Mellon-Gailey, Joe Mellon, and Patrick Mellon, of Philadelphia, nephew and niece Michael Shaw and Kelly Moon, godson Spencer Clark, and each of their respective partners and children.

She never stopped praying for a better, kinder world for each of us. Catholic special masses have been said and celebrated for Barbara thanks to neighbor and devoted friend Aida Caddauan, for which the family is eternally grateful. Private services are being planned for October 2025. Donations in her memory can be made to the ACLU or to Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas.
