Barbara Ann Shaaber

Barbara Ann Shaaber, 78, passed away Thursday July 10, 2025. She was born in Reading, PA, a daughter of the late Robert S. and Josephine J. (Colombo) Dragan. She was the wife of Thomas E. Shaaber, to whom she was married for over 36 years. Barbara had spent many years as an executive secretary in the insurance industry, and was the owner/operator of the former Rosie's sandwich shop in Reading. Her true passion was her Faith, leading to her many years as a church organist and choir director. She was previously an active member of Saint Mark's UCC in Reading, the former North 10th Street Church of God, Reading, and was a current member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church Wernersville Campus for over the last 25 years. Her daily enjoyments included her love of reading the Bible, daily devotions, playing the piano, and reading books. Barbara was the most selfless, warmed-hearted, loving and caring Mom, Wife, Grandmother, and friend, who was always putting others before herself.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Lauren E. (Smith), wife of Stephen Sonoski, grandchildren: Mikaela Sallade and Zachary Sonoski; a sister Janet E., widow of Mike Erb, and nephew Danny Erb. There are also three step-daughters: Deborah J., widow of Duane Schneck, Christina L., wife of Timothy Mohn, and Jacqueline M, wife of Keith Killourie. Barbara had several step-grandchildren: Sydney Sonoski, Audrey Sonoski, Samantha Wesoloski, Nicole Wesoloski, Aprille Mohn, Luke Mohn, Kimberly Mohn, Jake Killourie, and Kaysen Killourie. She was predeceased by a sister Sandra Dragan.

Funeral services will be Tuesday July 15th, at 12:00pm in Calvary Bible Fellowship Church Wernersville Campus, 161 West Penn Avenue, Wernersville, PA, 19565. Friends may pay their condolences on Tuesday from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Church. Burial will be private.
