BARBARA DINKEL SHERIDAN

Loving wife, phenomenal mother and grandmother passed away on Thursday morning, May 20 in West Palm Beach. Barbara was the wife of Paul Sheridan, the mother of Christopher (Amanda) and Timothy Sheridan and the "Grammy" of Bailey Sheridan. Barbara is survived by her loving sister and brother, Joan Tierney (Don) and Norman Dinkel (Holly) of Chicago, IL. She is preceded into Heaven by her parents, Norman and Arlene Dinkel and grandsons, Jake and Ethan. Originally from Chicago, IL, she moved to Miami for school and there met Paul. From there, she moved with her family to Dayton OH, Annandale VA, Wellington FL and San Diego CA. Barb and Paul along with their two sons settled in West Palm Beach in 1993.

Since its founding in 1988, Barbara worked as the executive director of the KIND Foundation (KIND stands for Kids In Need Developmentally). The non-profit organization, now located in Palm Beach Gardens, helps children with learning disabilities. She worked tirelessly to ensure the Foundation's for the sake of KIND's kids.
Her warm, bright smile will be missed by all who knew or met her. She was active in various Catholic Church activities and enjoyed playing tennis. Barbara was 62.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a scripture service at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. Ignatius Loyola. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the KIND Foundation, P. O. Box 32934, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33420.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Barb's family and everyone at the Kind Foundation during this sad time.
She helped make the lives of many dyslexic children better, while working tirelessly at dismissing the stigmas of "learning differences".

Dear Paul and Boys,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I remember Barbara and you as a young couple, at early St. Rita's, who reached out to so many others unselfishly. I will always remember your kindness to me.
Barbara always told me how you two prayed together for troubled marriages. You are a great example to others.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Mathew (formerly Brinkey)
