I was so sorry to hear about Barbara. Her sister, Paulette and I go back many years and just recently reconnected. I remember the times Paulette and I went to Ardmore and went to see Barbara. She was such a sweet person and I remember the monkeys she had. I know she will be missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Barbara and I became friends in a very unique way. I was teaching a class at the SOTC in Ardmore and she was one of my students. I knew something about her that she was totally unaware of. I knew she was the sister to my cousin Paulette. I choose not to tell Barbara, I didn’t feel that the time was right. Also, I hadn’t really reunited my relationship with Paulette. I believed that in time, God’s time, Paulette and I would be reunited . Barbara and I had never met before. Well sure enough, through mutual friends of mine and Barbara, Paulette and I were reunited as cousins and friends. Barbara was a part of God’s plan, she didn’t know it and neither did I. I told Barbara I was adopting her as my cousin too. She also became a precious person in my life, and I will always love her as a “special “ family member. My son Kevan loved her too.

I have so many memories and was fortunate to be able to call her my Aunt Barbara. A fond memory and always makes me smile was if you knew my aunt, you would know she couldn't keep surprises to herself very well. Christmas time and presents were always so difficult for her. Haha
Also growing up, my aunt always had a monkey or two with her. As my daughter would say, go with the angels and mermaids and be at peace Aunt Barb.

Barb, I've known you since I was an 8 year old little girl. Your friendship with my older sister was extended to me and no matter how many days, weeks, or years passed you always remembered who I was and greeted me with nothing but kindness. Always. You will be greatly missed. Prayers for the family. Barbara was a beautiful person. Melissa Kirkland

Barbara was one with a servant's heart for sure.
She was there for you no matter what. God sure got a good one this time! She was a blessing to us all. May she rest in peace and enjoy being with her Mom and Dad and friends already there in heaven! Love you, Barb

I dearly loved Barbara! I am still in shock over her passing. The description of her in her Obituary is so true, but I’d like to add that she had the best sense of humor of anyone I’ve ever known! When she came to visit me in Florida, I never had so much fun or laughed so much or so hard in my life! And yes, she did spend every minute she could at the beach! She genuinely loved it! When I lived in KC, she came up to visit me there. Now I’m living in Phoenix and she expressed interest in coming out here for a visit. Yes, she liked to travel every chance she got!
Barbara and I first became friends around 2000, and we were definitely friends for life! She was one of the most caring, loving, helpful, kind-hearted, generous/giving, friendly people you could meet. She’d give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it! I don’t think she had an enemy in the world!
I’m blessed for my friendship and many memories shared with beautiful Ms Barbara! She was a blessing to many! An angel on earth!
I’ll see you on the other side, Sweet Friend!
