Barbara Ann Thompson, age 72, of Milton, FL, passed away Wednesday March 29, 2017. She was born in in Prichard, West Virginia on May 8, 1944 to the late Hubert Hatten and Alberta Blake Hatten.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy (Bud) Stapleton.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 ½ years, Fred A Thompson; her daughter Melody Michener (Eric): two grandsons, Chance Michener and Ezra Michener; her sister, Betty Hazlett; nieces, nephews, and cousins and her animal babies, Katie (dog), and Coffee and Cocoa (her cats).

Fred's job in construction brought him and his family to Milton, FL in 1979, where they presently live. Barbara worked for 13 yrs as a Santa Rosa County Bus Driver. She loved being outdoors and working in her yard, planting flowers, landscaping, and gardening. She would stay outside until dark. She loved her grandsons very much and loved spending time with them. She traveled with Fred state to state during the summers when Melody was out of school. Fred and Barbara met in high school and were married in 1961. Barbara was a special wife, mother, and Grammer.

A Celebration of Life will be Monday April 3, 2017 at National Cremation & Burial Society with Pastor Mike Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 PM until the service hour. The Family would like to thank Regency Hospice and Pine Terrace Church for their help during this time and our wonderful friends and family for reaching out.
