BARBARA G. WEISE

PORT LAVACA - Barbara G. Weise, 63, of Port Lavaca, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007. She was born May 11, 1944, in Cheektowaga, N.Y., to the late Elmer and Cora Gerspacher. Barbara moved to Texas in 1980 and went to work for DuPont in 1981 as a Process Operator until her retirement in 2003.
She was very active in the Calhoun County Community. She served as a six-time past-president for the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was currently a district officer, past president of Ladies Auxiliary VFW, she was the current treasurer for the Old Indianola Trail Riders, member of Calhoun County Fair Board, Quilt Guild and Salem Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Weise of Port Lavaca; daughters, Cathy Schwartz of Binghamton, N.Y., Deborah Stanton of Gatesville, and Lisa Weise of Lewisville; son, Jay Stanton of Midway; son-in-law, Joel Fellers of Port Lavaca; sister, Carol and Jack Frost of Canadaigua, N.Y.; brothers, Gus Gerspacher of Honeoye, N.Y. and George Gerspacher of Albany, N.Y.; grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda and Felicia Schwartz, Jessica Fellers, Vince Schupak, Kameryn Daigle, Ariel, Fayla and Triston Stanton and Kiara O'Meara; and mother-in-law, Adele Weise of Cuero.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be today, from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca. Funeral services will be Monday, July 9, at 11 a.m. in Salem Lutheran Church, Port Lavaca, with Pastor Jenny Stephenson officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. on Monday in Weesatche Cemetery in Weesatche.
Pallbearers are Robert McPherson, Walter Brown, Steven Robinson, Sonny Garza, George Brown and Aaron McCain. Honorary Pallbearers are Grandchildren, Ladies Auxiliary VFW and Ladies Auxiliary FOE.
