Barbara Womack Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 17, 2009.
Barbara Queen Womack was born on March 24, 1938 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late Lonnie Parker Sr. and Queen Parker. She was the youngest of eight children born to that union. She relocated to Newark, New Jersey shortly after her birth. Barbara received her education in the Newark Public School system and graduated from South Side High School. Barbara entered into Holy Matrimony to the late Eugene Womack and from this union they were blessed with four children. She was employed at Irvington General Hospital for 35 years and retired in September 2005. Still active and full of energy she decided to work part-time for Corbert Medical Transportation Services. Barbara was a faithful member of the St. Paul*s Calvary United Church of God and enjoyed being a part of the church and serving the Lord. She was a member of the Mothers Board, Missionary Board, and Missionary Choir. The strength and love she gave her family was only the love that God could give; never ending and always pure. She had a wealth of knowledge that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. For those who knew her they would agree that she was a kind hearted person that would help others in need. Barbara enjoyed traveling and working in her garden. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was also a loving and generous person who will be greatly missed. Barbara leaves her family a legacy of love, unity, caring, and prosperity. Her beautiful smile will live in our hearts forever. On May 17, 2009, the Good Lord took Barbara Queen Womack home to the Glory of His Kingdom. Barbara leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her precious memories: her four loving children, Adrienne Morrison, Tracey Womack, Eugenia Ramirez, and Mark Womack; three grandchildren, Tamiya Womack, Alicia Robinson, and Marcial Ramirez; one brother, Lonnie Parker Jr.; sister-in-law, Vanessa Parker; son-in-law, Gregory Morrison; future daughter-in-law, Colette Yorrick; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Curry, Rose Womack, and Jessie Marable; two brothers-in-law, Ira Womack and Herbert Womack; and a host of relatives, church family, and friends.
