I visited Barbara and "Y.T." on Raasay in the summer of 1973. They could not have been kinder hosts. I climbed Dun Cann and visited several of the local families with them. "Her like will not be here again."

Sincere sympathy to all of Mrs Yalden- Thomsons family.
As a child in Raasay Primary I remember how excited we all were when she visited our school to read to us. She took just a great interest in all the children and I for one have Happy memories off her.

This is a sad loss for our community but there is so much we can take from knowing Barbara. She was gracious, she was caring, and she was so progressive ... way ahead of her time both back in the 40's and in more recent years (who goes back to school at 62 and then works another 20 years?). It was wonderful to serve with Barbara on the CYFS Board and I frequently would try and sit next to her at meetings if that seat wasn't already taken. Barbara was a true lady in the finest sense of the word.

Very sad to hear of the passing of a lovely lady, who was held with much affection on the Island of Raasay. Barbara and her late husband David were a large part of island life as I grew up. I have many happy memories of Barbara and her kindness and welcome when visiting her home. She was an entertaining and interesting host who took a great interest in all she met. She will be sadly missed on Raasay and will be fondly remembered. My family and I would like to extend our condolences to her family. a lovely lady, we were proud to know and will remember always.

As neighbors up the road in Earlysville, I especially remember Mr. and Mrs. Yalden-Thomson as customers in my parents store in Earlysville. They both were always so interesting, nice and had so much "class". I also remember Margaret riding her bike to the store. May God bless the family.
