I worked with Barney while he headed the committee to plan the new Canadian War Museum. He was always energetic, very committed to the cause and charming. Barney was highly respected and admired by all who worked on the project. He will be missed.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I was saddened to read of Barney’s passing. He was a true friend and I was happy to have known him. I have a precious photo of him on my office wall with both myself and Milton Gregg.
His contributions to both his community and Canada will never be forgotten.

In his last days, Barney was a fellow resident of mine at Belmont House. Despite his blindness, right up until the last he was a most entertaining table companion and a model of wit, wisdom and interest in his fellow man. Always upbeat, energetic and bent on improving the quality of life at Belmont, had he lived he would undoubtedly have carried out his project of booking concerts of classical music for our pleasure and edification. In the words of what he so aptly called the "junior religion", requiescat in pace, et lux perpetua luceat ei.

I met Barney in Boston in 1984, while he was stationed there as the Consol General. He was well regarded and loved by those who worked with him there, and I have fond memories of his dedication and interest to the job-although officially retired from Gov't duties.

"I Knew and admired Barney in the sixties and seventies. He was an exceptional man, always warm and friendly despite the fact that he was extremely busy. He really cared for Canada and his constituents. Sincere condolences to his family."

Sincere sympathies to all of the Danson family, and in particular to two of Barney Danson's sons, John and Tim, whom I have met. My thoughts are with you today on reading of the sad news of your dad's passing.

On behalf of the family of the late Alfred Long, a business associate for many years (Micro Plastics), our condolences. I also had the privilege of interviewing Barney when he was a member of the Trudeau government, renewing the family connection.
