Barry BIDDULPH Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 25 to Feb. 26, 2014.
Barry embodied a love of family matched by very few. He passed away after a long battle of chronic back pain on February 18, 2014, which though it took away his freedom of movement did nothing to curb his sense of humor. He was 61. He was a devoted husband to Vicki Biddulph and an adoring father to three children; Jessica, Harrison and Barry Jonathan. Barry was born in Kingman, AZ, September 29, 1952 to Margaret Frances and Herbert Kemp Biddulph, Jr. He graduated from Clark High School in Las Vegas, NV in 1970. He attended Arizona State University, majoring in business and was a Phi Sigma Kappa brother. While growing up in Las Vegas, he excelled in swimming, having won the shared Nevada State Title in relays. Barry had a zest for sports and enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing, but fell in love with golf, with which he spent many years successfully competing. Barry would spend his summers detailing cars for his father's auto dealerships, eventually working his way into sales and then management. In 1984, Barry, along with his father Herb and his brother, Kemp, purchased Comanche Chevrolet in Santa Rosa. In 1984, Barry Biddulph initiated and "spearheaded" a canned food drive effort that started with Biddulph Chevrolet employees and culminated in a county-wide effort and the establishment of the Coalition Against Hunger in Sonoma County in 1989. This effort was recognized by President Reagan and by the City of Santa Rosa. Biddulph Chevrolet/Isuzu earned the distinction of being the top Isuzu Sales Organization in California in 1987 and 1988. Barry served two consecutive terms as President of the Isuzu Ad Association of Northern California, a two year tenure on the Isuzu National Dealer Body "Executive Committee" and was twice nominated for TIME Magazines Import Quality Dealer of the Year Award. Barry was involved with numerous start-up companies including ZAP, RENU International Inc., Power Board and Maintenance Card, Inc. and in 1999, Barry sold Biddulph Chevrolet. In recent years he enjoyed his fellowship with his brothers in Christ in Petaluma, who encouraged him spiritually and emotionally through his physical challenges. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family whom he adored and who adored him and his love of fun. From being wrapped up with ice packs ready to tackle a ping-pong game with his wife Vicki to listening to his daughter Jessica sing or studying her latest piece of art, to just hanging around with his son Harrison listening to music and watching a UFC Fight. He loved to make us all laugh with a story from his past or a recent funny event. Laughter helps take the pain away. May God bless his soul and his good heart. He is survived by his wife; Vicki Biddulph, his daughter; Jessica M. Biddulph, his son; Harrison S. Biddulph and his son; Barry J. Biddulph, by his brothers; Ben Hoff and Kemp Biddulph and his sister; Markey Martin, his sisters-in-law; Norma Hoff and Deanna Biddulph, his brothers-in-law; Lee Martin, Walt and Tony Vogel, sister-in-law; Cindy Reed-Vogel and his loving Mother and Father-In-Law; Dolores and Walter Vogel, his many nieces and nephews; Bill Biddulph, Trevor Martin, Hunter Martin and David Vogel, Brooks Martinez and husband Bert, Blake Van Es and husband Jantje, Brenda and husband Alan, Keile Martin, Katie Vogel and Tess and Justin Maynard, and his great nieces and nephews; Bryce and Adia Biddulph, Maddie, Tori and Conner Martinez, Jake, Kemp and Dutch Van Es. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409), with a Celebration of Life Reception following. I am so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. Barry and I rented an apartment together for several months back when we both worked at his brothers car dealership in Glendale Arizona. I have a some very fond memories of him. May God bless the family in this time of sorrow.

My condolences to the Family. Barry & I were very close when in high school, just before leaving for college. He was a very sweet and caring person. I have many memories of his love for life and how great his family was to him. His laugh was contagious! My heart is heavy to hear of his passing. RIP Barry... And may God comfort and give peace to everyone who loved and cared for Barry.

Miss You Barry - RIP

I am saddened to learn of my friend, Barry Biddulph's passing. Barry was an active member of the health club to which I belong (The Parkpoint Club, Santa Rosa)which is where we met and instantly became friends. Barry invited me to a Janet Jackson Concert at the Oakland coliseum some years ago. We had so much fun people watching and of course watching Janet's performance that we could talk about nothing else, for about a month, but that night out everytime we saw each other at the club!I witnessed him wearing back braces and still trying to workout and eventually, he was not showing up anymore presumably because of the pain he was enduring. I am sad he's gone but happy that he's no longer in pain RIP My Man!condolences to Vicki and the kids - especially to "BJ" - who use to come with Barry to the club, as a young boy, All the best -

I am deeply sorry to hear about the death of Barry or "Biddy" as one of many PSK fraternity brothers at ASU lovingly knew him. In our high school days I also played a lot of golf with Barry. His sense of humor was infectious to be around, he was one of those good friends to have lived with and known. With deepest sympathy our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Deepest sympathies to the family. Played hundreds of rounds of golf with Barry at Muni and each hole of every round was a scream. We ask that mercy and grace be given to Barry and his family.

I had the pleasure of working with Barry when I worked at TV-50. He was a kind and caring man, a great father and a loving husband. My heart goes out to his family during this time.

Barry was a wonderful, generous loving father. He was also an honest man, something rare in the automobile business.
