I live in the US now and was telling a doctor friend about the wonderful Barry Brewster only yesterdeay. Imagine my shock and feelings when I learned he had passed away.I worked for the ambulance service in the 80/90s and Dr Barry was our go to when the going got rough "up the dale" Always, always ready to help with a smile in his voice. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. They don't make them like him anymore.

I had the honour to serve under Major Brewster while he was Medical Officer of 7BN Light Infantry, a great man who always had a great sense of humour, RIP Sir.

A great kind caring GP. Wonderful to work with as co trainers in the Yorkshire general practice training scheme. Based in Ripon for future GPS. A gift for communicating with people. A great raconteur an ability to join amazing expeditions. I more than enjoyed his company and some of his brilliant ideas of how to cope with a huge area to look after pre mobile phone era. Not to be forgotten and I am sure the Settle community and huge district will honour his memory George Dublon a retired GP
