It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend and neighbor Barry Fraser. Barry was one of the nicest folk around. Always chipper, always positive, always good natured, always smiling even when things were getting tough for him. I remember Barry and LucyAnn assisting with the annual July 4 street parties on Hasosaw Nene, and especially the wonderful video of the event that he made and edited. You will be missed Barry.

A sweet and kind man as evidenced by Kristen's lovely eulogy. He was also very dedicated to environmental protection, being one of the stalwarts of our Heart of the Earth group. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Barry was a linchpin volunteer when Neighbor to Neighbor in the Nenes was being put together. He could handle the techie details that the rest of us were struggling with. And he was always cheerful when you talked to him, optimistic about our chance to grow into a real organization and ready to help any way that he could. He is sorely missed.

I have just now learned of Barry's passing. Odd, as I passed by the house on a walk last night I wondered the circumstances of his life and now I know. Barry was indeed a loving and compassionate person and it was always a delight to share time with him. I enjoyed the meditation tapes he created in my practice of yoga. I hold each of you in my heart and my thoughts as you adjust to living with the many wonderful memories of life with him. May those memories be a source of comfort and peace in the times that follow.

First, please let me offer my condolences on the loss of your beloved husband and father. I didn´t know Mr. Fraser but I wanted to share a story with you.
I was searching Tallahassee obituaries for an unrelated reason (I have lived in Tallahassee my whole life) and in my search I came across the beautiful obituary of Mr. Fraser and read it, in part because there are some Frasers a few generations back in my family tree, and I know some Frasers in town and was wondering if Mr. Fraser was part of their family (I don´t believe so). In the obituary, I saw the very interesting piece of information that he was a big fan of bluebirds.
During the pandemic I became a big backyard bird watcher, and I have been trying to attract bluebirds to my backyard feeders for over two years. I have researched what they like to eat, where they feel safe, and so on, and tried to create the perfect conditions, to no avail. I had kind of given up on it. I saw them sometimes when I was out at the greenspace when I took my dog there for a walk, and I even saw one once in my front yard, but they never came to my backyard feeders.
When I came back from the Christmas holiday this year and sat at my desk (looking out on the backyard feeders as I work), suddenly I saw a bright blue male bluebird and two females at my mealworm feeder. I was so excited that I called my husband and took a bunch of pictures. They stayed for a while, ate a lot, and came back a few times that day, and they have come back every day since.
The day they first appeared was January 3, 2023. I saw that´s the day that Mr. Fraser departed and I thought it was an interesting coincidence, and I wondered if it might be a comfort to your family in some way.
My condolences again, and I wish you and your family the best. Here is a photo of the bluebirds. They are even brighter in real life.

Dear Lucy and family. What a wonderful, fine man your husband must have been. Words are inadequate in this terrible time, but it helps to know that others are holding you in their hearts. Fred and I extend our deepest condolences to you,
