I looked at the sky last night
and all I saw were
points of light I'll never reach.
I know that you're up there,
somewhere.
I vaugely wonder if
you're staring down at me.

I both hope so and not.

I don't want you to
see the streaks on my face,
see that I shed tears for you.
But I want you to see my smile,
see that I smile for you.

I want you to know that I'm here.
That I haven't forgotten you.
That I will not forget you.
That I will keep loving you
like you deserve.

So the river falls
with my heart
but I will rise
as I always do
and move on
to the next day.

But let me sit in this night
let me mourn

Our family was saddened to hear about Barry's passing. He definitely fought a good fight with you by his side. We will miss him at the football field. (Danny will miss his slushies too.) Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
