Mrs. Miller and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Miller. My brother and I were patients from the early age 3 all the way to 19 years of age. I think the last time I went to see him, he jokingly told me I was getting a little too big for his chairs, considering I'm 6'2. I don't know who was laughing more, me or the three year old in the chair next to me. My mothers favorite memory was when she took my brother, who was three at the time, for his first appointment, around 1974. She was so nervous that things wouldn't go well, considering he was so wild and probably would not sit still. To her surprise, she walked in to find my brother kicked back in the chair, legs crossed, with sunglasses on watching TV. The only movement detected was his little fingers tapping away on the arms of the chair. Dr. Miller was such a great man and will be truly missed. May God bless you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Miller and family:
My sister and I were both patients of Dr. Miller from the time we were both 3 until 18 years old. I just found out this week he had passed on. I remember all the visits, the retainers, the wisdom teeth he took out. I have many memories of the office and how it changed over the years. I was always amazed at how he remembered so much about my family and always asked about my grandfather whom he had known for years. I am very sorry for your loss and hope that it helps that he made a difference in so many children's lives. May God comfort you in this time.

Mrs. Miller and Family: I want to express my sympathy. My sisters and I were patients of Dr. Miller for many years. I worked for him in 1975 while in high school. My aunt, Thilde Lieberth also worked for him in the 1950's after moving here from Germany. I know that she has many great memories. I will send the obituary and article to her today. She lives in Eugene, OR.
Again, may I express our sympathy for your loss.

Dr. Miller was an exceptional dentist to our three boys for over 20 years and they admired him greatly. We did not know very much about his awards and honors, but we did know about the excellent care he gave our children. He will truly be missed. God bless and comfort each of you.

Our son, John Coble, Jr. first began dentist appointments with Dr. Miller at age 3. Children went alone to the treatment rooms while parents waited to ponder what was going on. This was very effective. On that first visit, I exhaled when I saw John walking towards me. Answering my question - How was it? - John said it was OK except for that "YUCKY CAKE" they put in my mouth! (A dental impression had been made) This has been a special, enduring story in our family for 30 years! We loved Dr. Miller!

To the Miller Family:
How saddened I was to hear that Dr. Miller was taken so quickly. He was such a joy to work with through NCESGR and I surely consider it one of my life's privilege and honor to have met Dr. Miller. He touched many young lives and made a difference. I hope we all can do the same.
With Sincerest Sympathy,
Debra Byars, Executive Assistant
Office of John M. Belk, Chairman Emeritus, NCESGR
