Barry created my floor music for gymnastics more than once. I was the very last floor piece he created before his passing and I will be forever grateful that such an amazing person made my floor music. Every competition this 2020 season I dedicate to him and his family. Thank you so much. You will be missed.

I knew Barry as a fellow music student at Penn State. We were friends. His love for all of life and his wonderful vibrance was with us then. His creativity was surpassed by no one. That he went on to share his gifts in such a unique way does not surprise me. I will forever miss my dear friend.

I had the privilege of playing music for Barry as a therapeutic musician at the hospital during his last days! Barry always had a word of encouragement and inspiration! I only wish I had met him earlier. Most of all, he reminded me that music is a gift of our tender Creator! I am grateful to have gotten to meet such a dear brother who shares my love for our Lord and Savior. I look forward to seeing him again and worshiping before the throne of God together! My prayers are with you Gail and family! Emmy Armbruster

As a gymnastics mom I connected with Barry for both of my girls floor music. I had questions and he had the expertise and kind heart to educate me on what the judges look for.
I later reached out to Barry for music for a teammate that I was purchasing because it was a financial stretch for our teammates family at the time. I bought the music and emailed him hours later that I needed the shorter version of what I had just purchased for our friend. He sent the shorter version to me within the hour, thanked me for looking after a fellow American and wished the family all the best.
From there, we chatted about my familys love for Colorado. Barry suggested my husband and I connect with him for a cup of coffee when in the Frisco area to ski and he may hit the slopes with us. I truly planned to reach out to him when in Frisco or slopes nearby.
Thank you for sharing your talent and inspiring my daughters to find that perfect music for their optional floor routines.
May you continue to shine up above, Barry. Prayers of peace to your lovely wife and family.

Thank you Barry for the fun: the music, the times at Woodward, the skiing at A Basin, the unforgettable high voice, and a myriad number of shared melodies.

My condolences to your family. You will be missed. I will always remember how helpful you were composing music for me over the years. You would always answer your phone, get right to work and call back with the finished product! Service like that just doesnt exist!

My heart is hurting as I read this for the special genius who gave so much of himself to so many people. I can never think of Barry without remembering the very first time I met him. The Penn State womens gymnastics team was about to leave for a several mile run around the campus. Barry jumped out of that crazy van with his dog and without any hesitation joined us on the jog talking non stop about floor music. His enthusiasm for his art was contagious and he gave so freely of himself. The last time I spoke with him he was excited about a creative project regarding ballroom dance music he was doing for me. He called me at 2am because he just couldnt wait to share his composition with me. He would not let me pay him because he said he had so much fun doing it! He was uniquely talented, unbelievably generous and irreplaceable not only a musician but a friend. My best wishes to his family.

Barry, the first time we met in person was when you rolled up in your "mega van" with your piano, organ and your pet wolf! We sat in the hot summer parking lot for hours composing floor music together for the team I coached at that time in New Jersey. Thank you for working so hard on that Gershwin piece you told me was to difficult, my gymnast loved it and scored well for years after with that routine. God bless your talents, creativity and loving heart. Thank you for decades of amazing music for gymnasts and your energy that contributed to so many gymnasts and teams throughout the country. God speed your soul as you're celebrated and welcomed into Heaven... may the celestial music resonate with your Soul.

My Condolences to all family and friends who were graced by Barry's wild genius. I knew his whole family and always admired the way they were so welcoming in their home as we practiced in their living room, most times at higher volumes then what would drive parents crazy. Barry would occasionally run away from the band and dive into the pond and come back dripping wet and continue with his powerful B3 Hammond. Comforted to know he is reunited with his beautiful mom and dad.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I still have those yellow labeled cassettes. Will remember working with Barry to get that right cut of the perfect music from my head. The music plays on in countless gyms.

Barry was such a foundation for Shoals School of Gymnastics and Geronimo. He was always willing to help and listened to what we needed. Hard to imagine floor routines without his wisdom. His catalog will stand he test of time, and we will he reminded of his work forever!

So sorry to hear of Barrys passing. Through his music, Bevwas such a big part of our gymnastics program. Our girls loved listening to the demos and deciding which one they would choose for their new routine. They would spend weeks listening to each piece carefully looking for the perfect one for them. He has made so many gymnasts dreams come true. To have a good floor routine... it all starts with the music. Our Prayers are with his family.

RIP Barry and prayers to your family. I will cherish the hundreds of conversations we had over many years, staying up past midnight cutting music masterpieces, your AMAZING musical talent, the time you played our elite compulsory music live on piano and your ability to take my crazy ideas and turn them into something better than any of us could imagine. You made a difference Barry Nease and you will be missed. To the Nease family, I am so sorry for your loss, Barry was and will always be one-of-a-kind.

Barry was the GENIUS behind my successful gymnasts' floor musics from 1992-1998! I'm so very sad to learn of his death. My hope is that his family and friends know how much we all love him and how much he impacted our lives and sport at every level. I'll never forget calling him one day and him telling me that he was eating pizza, would call me back. LOL!
