Barry SILVERMAN Obituary
Peacefully, after a courageous battle, on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Beloved husband of Hildy. Devoted father and father-in-law of Sheldon Silverman and Vicky Essebag, Jonathan and Jamie Silverman, Jillian Silverman and Kim Williams. Cherished Zaidy of Emily Silverman and Gary Cummins, Nancy, Rachel, Ocie, and Hanna. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Irwin and Helen, Anita and David Nerwen, Howard and Jane; and brother-in-law of Marsha and Lawrence Yelin, Barbara and Bill Rese. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of 5 Main, Dr. Adrian Langleben, and the staff of 3rd floor Oncology Clinic at St. Mary's Hospital. Special thanks to Barry's "night angels", Chandra, Raj and Grace. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the House of Israel Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at his home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily. Due to the advent of Yom Kippur, shiva ends Tuesday afternoon. Donations in Barry's memory may be made to the Cancer Care Fund c/o St. Mary's Hospital, (514) 734-2694.

Dear Hildy, I have just found that Barry is no longer with you. Please forgive me for not being with you and your family for his funeral. I feel so sorry for not knowing for so long and not telling you and all your children and grandchildren what you know so well yourselves: Barry was a real mench. I will always remember his kind heart, his wonderful smile and his willingness to help people around him. I owe him a lot: for bringing me to Canada, finding me my first job and lifting my spirit every time we met. May his name be for a blessing.
