Barry and I met in a men's group in the early 1990s and we remained friends for many years. He attended my mid life graduation from nursing school, when I only invited those most important in my life. He attended my father's funeral in Sept 2003. I have a picture in my home of Barry and my dad and just looked at it today. It's rather surreal that I felt compelled to look Barry up online, today 07/18/24, and sadly just learned of his passing. Barry and I went to a very frigid, rain soaked PSU football game in the mid ninties, stayed overnight, and i met Barry's mother the next day, in Sunbury, who he loved and really tried to help over the years. Barry, we got separated by the different directions our lives took, but you were a real, true friend and that's how I will remember you. Rest in peace dear friend. Stephen J. Shane RN, B A

My surprise brother. But what a joy. We didn´t have many years together and we never met face to face. But our telephone conversations were so much fun. Getting to know each other and sharing our life experiences was so much fun. We laughed and learned to love one another. Thank you for being a part of my life. I will miss you brother. Rest in peace.

Barry was very giving, kind hearted guy. He was always an excellent listener and gave great advice when times were tough. He had interesting stories from his past, although that one about his one cat that liked the shower I always wondered if he was shining me on?! I'll miss you buddy, be at peace. Mike Mowen

Barry & I were good friends in high school and he was always a source of fun. His nickname was "Sarge", but I don´t remember how he got that name. We also played basketball together at Ryder Technical Institute. Barry was so good that he would get a rebound, spin in the air and throw an outlet pass out to me running down the court for a fast break, all before his feet touched the floor! We won a lot of games that way.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Barry´s family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. Some of my favorite memories of Barry were the years we played Jr Varsity basketball together when Mr. Laubach coached us. He was always an upbeat positive person. My and Marcie's condolences go out to his family and friends.
