Bartholomew "Bart" Paul Gicking

Bartholomew "Bart" Paul Gicking was reunited with his first love and Bride, Maria de la Luz, on March 10, 2025, with his beloved Patti Shebest by his side in Mesquite, NV.

Born on January 23, 1951 in Los Angeles, Bart eloped with Maria the moment they turned 21 while serving in the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army. In their 38 years of marriage, they shared many adventures together while raising their 3 children. Bart cherished his time with Maria before her passing in 2009. He later found companionship with Patti, bringing joy, happiness and continued adventures in his later years. Bart loved to travel in his RV to see new places and meet new people, spreading his positive attitude and love of life everywhere he went. He loved to tinker, attend Spring Training, eat all the sweets he could get his hands on, get breakfast at his favorite local diners, and spend time with his family. He would want you to remember that, "Every day is a special day. Make it so!"

Bart's life is honored by his loved ones: his children, Paul, Tony, and Krystle; his grandchildren, Zoya, Anthony, Jasmyn and Ender; his brothers and sister, Chuck, Terry and Ann; his significant other Patti; her children Derek and Niki; and her grandchildren Zoe, Erin and Lizzie; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
