He was my Dad. He was the best Dad I could ask for. He was always there for me, no matter what. I have many fond memories of time spent with him through the years; backpacking, camping, playing baseball, playing pool and poker all come to mind right away. Looking back, those were some of the best times I've ever had, and I have to thank my Dad for those.
You never know how much you love them or will miss them until they are gone. I love you and miss you so much, Dad.

I worked with Baxter Bell in two theatrical productions: "Hamlet," in 1986, and "The Would-Be Gentleman," in 1987. (And, I just remembered, "The Sound Of Music" in 1984. And "Guys & Dolls" in 1990. My goodness, I didn't realize there had been so many.) I hadn't seen him in quite some time. I would like to remember him the way that he was back then: disciplined, hardworking, focused, funny, and a good guy. My heart goes out to Sue and her family.

I had not seen Baxter in a number of years because of distance and his health, but as one of my special Ayler cousins, he was much loved and often in our thoughts. I so enjoyed his contributions to the Ayler book and his stories added much to the quality of the project. He will be missed and I wish love and peace to his family.

Baxter will be missed. My heart goes out to all of you. I so enjoyed our visit with him in California last October. What a great sense of humor, pride in his family and a genuine person. Our love, Sam and Deb Satterthwaite
