Bayardo Carrillo Obituary
Bayardo Carrillo Jr., 62, a resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Bayardo was born in Ecuador on August 30, 1960, the son of Ana and Bayardo Carrillo Sr. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Greenwich, CT. He worked for General Reinsurance Corporation for over 30 years as a proud, audio visual specialist in the marketing department.
He was the founder and curator for the Vicious Circle, helping many artists display their work in a variety of venues, including The Sackler Gallery in the Palace Theater for approximately a decade. He continued his lifelong interests in photography, film, music, and the arts. Most recently he founded Carrillo Arts, where he helped orchestrate musical performances for his loving girlfriend and partner, Julie Maimon. He enjoyed spending time with his friends celebrating life, watching the Mets and Jets crush it for years, but most importantly, being around the people he loved. We'll all miss his "Happy Friday!" messages, but his memory will live on forever.
Bayardo is survived by his life partner, Julie Maimon; his daughters, Nicole Carrillo and Zoe Carrillo; his former spouse, Jeanne Carrillo; and his parents, Ana and Bayardo Carrillo Sr. A Wake will be held for Bayardo on Friday, September 9th at Lacerenza Funeral Home in Stamford, CT, from 4-7pm. I sent this note to Jay on 1/17 regarding Baito: Good morning Jay and Kenny. Happy New Year. I thought I´d share a quick "memory lane" story. When ever I head north from VA to check on things in RI I stop in Greenwich for a run and a visit to my parent´s cemetery. Anyway, last week I did a Byram run that took me to my elementary school, Byram shore, Western, and some of the ball fields around town. I was headed down Byram RD and I remembered this house and the kid that lived there. It was Baito´s house when we were kids. It all came running back to me. When you sent the obit back in September, the Bells didn´t go off in my head. Then last week the lights went on. All of a sudden I remembered Baito from days before SMHS. He was the classic organizer of anything resembling sand lot baseball (and even tackle football) games. He couldn´t have been more than 12 and he would call kids houses in Byram, Pemberwick, and other parts of town to put together "throw downs" for baseball and football. I remembered my Old Man asking me about this kid that kept calling. He thought it was so cool. I remember Baito being the only kid who had his own catchers equipment. Anyway, you never know when God will grab your attention to think of the blessings that occur in our lives. For a brief moment last week I think Baito joined me on my run to remind me of those blessings. Hope you and your families are well. All my best. Bobby Kolb.
