Beatrice Rich DeMilo

Beatrice Rich DeMilo (Flewwellin) passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Massachusetts on June 9, 2024 after suffering a stroke. Born on March 27, 1935 in Westchester County, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Hazel (Thompkins) Flewwellin. Bea grew up in Yorktown Heights, New York and graduated from Yorktown High School.

After working in Manhattan for a brief period, Bea married Charles (Pete) DeMilo on May 4, 1963 and settled in Yorktown Heights to raise a family. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Bea's greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, and survived by her son Chuck, daughters Carin, Cheryl, and Carol Ann, and by her grandchildren Audrey DeMilo, Ethan DeMilo, Ilian DeCorte, and Brian DeCorte.

In addition to her family, Bea worked as a volunteer for the Maryknoll Sisters organization in the nursing home wing of the facility as an aide to elderly nuns. She was passionate about tending to her vegetable garden and proud of the tomatoes she harvested each year. Bea will be remembered for her vibrant personality and spirited laugh. Her ability to forge deep connections and spread joy wherever she went will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 11AM at the Our Lady Queen of Peach Chapel at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah (https://discovernac.org/donate/).
