My dear Bela Bacsi
You were indeed a rare gem. You were loved by all who knew you. You had the warmest of hearts...a truly loving and caring person, always helpful and cheerful. This is your legacy.
I thank you for being there for me while I was growing up. I thank you for your words of wisdom and lifelong encouragment. I never had no grandfather whose genuine kindness meant more to me...you made a difference being in my world.
I will always remember our family vacations, our weekend trips which were filled with much fun and laughter...in all..great times. I will miss you dearly.
You have left behind a true legacy Bela Bacsi, a legacy of loving and caring. It is how you impacted all of our lives. Your daughters, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, your friends, we are all very proud of your perpetual individual contribution and devotion to each and every one of us throughout our lives. We have indeed become better persons having known you.
Your legacy as an oil painter, from one artist to another, I have always admired your fine work. My personal collections hangs beautifully for all to admire and friends will leave familiar with your name. It is now a tribute to you.
Aniko, Agi and family, my words can only bring a slight comfort when your grief is so great. No one who knew Bela Bacsi could ever forget his charm and mostly his warmth. We all appreciate the one happiness and great outlook on life (your zest for life) he so willingly shared and inspired within all of us.
Steve and I extend our most sincere sympathies. We hope that the kind words and thoughts from your families, all your friends and acquaintances will help ease your grief and become easier to bear.
Bela Ba, may you rest in perpetual peace together with Ilonka neni. This was your wish, remember?.

Dear Béla Nagypapa,
I just wanted to say that you were a very special part of my life. All the wonderful memories I have of you are those of fun, joy and happiness. When Kati and I were little girls, I remember you always made us laugh. You made silly faces, threw invisible objects and performed funny tricks that got our minds going. You and Nagymama came over to babysit us when Mami and Apuka went bowling on Thursday nights. You set up a makeshift volleyball net for us made of two chairs held by a thin string and used a pink balloon as the ball. Of course you played with us. These are just some of the many memories I will cherish forever.
When we were teenagers, you asked us questions about how we were doing in school, what we wanted to be when we grew up, and of course, made clear your opinion on tattoos, sometimes sneakily trying to check for proof (don’t worry I still don’t have one)!
When we got older and started to introduce our boyfriends to you, you asked us if they were nice and if we were happy. You always cared so much.
I am proud that you are my Nagypapa. Someone who has witnessed almost an entire century go by, who has made it through through war and other difficult times while keeping such a positive outlook on life. If I could have changed one thing in my life before you left us, is that I would have improved my Hungarian so that we could exchange life stories that you are so great at telling. Although my basic versus your impeccable Hungarian had caused a communication barrier between us throughout my life… we still had a special unspoken connection and loved each other very much.
Nagypapa, you inspire me to be a good person and you are also the perfect definition of what being a good Nagypapa really means.
I love you so much and you will always be very much alive in my heart.
Sok szeretettel,
Lindácska.

Dear Bela,
I never had the honor of knowing you personally, but I do know your loving daughter Agi, and knowing the kind of person that she is speaks volumes about the parents who raised her. It's obvious Agi grew up in a house full of love and was given more than enough support to become the wonderful caring person she is today. Agi has passed that love and knowledge on to her children and they in turn on to theirs. Your Legacy is your family and you have given them the best of yourself which will live on for generations to come. May You Rest In Peace for all eternity Bela with your Dear Sweatheart Lucsika, adorning heaven with your
radiance, as together you look down with pride at your beautiful and loving family~
With much respect and Admiration~

Dear Béla bácsi,
I will always treasure the conversations we had at parties and while driving together. You were an excellent raconteur, telling great stories from when you lived in Hungary and later in Canada. I admired your positive attitude and your simple yet fulfilling way of live, including the little cottage in St. Calixte that you enjoyed so much with Lucsi néni, and the Malibu that you drove so carefully for 30 years. Thank you for everything. Isten áldjon és adjon örök nyugodalmat!
