Ms. Belva Davis was a trailblazing Bay Area journalist whose calm rigor and on-air grace reshaped local news. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by her. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Ms. Belva Davis. That is the legacy Ms. Belva Davis left behind memorable news that will not be forgotten. May family, friends and extended family cherish her memories.

My Condolences To The Davis Family

I send my condolences to the family of Belva Davis, I remember her when I was in elementary school in San Francisco, she was an inspiration every black little girl in that area. Soror Brigitte Earl

As a SF native, I grew up listening to Belva Davis on the news. And I believe on a couple of occasions, we saw her in a local grocery store. So in some sense, I mourn her passing as I did when my parents passed; they were a part of the same generation. She was someone, who was a part of the SF Community, that modeled adulthood and professionalism. Condolences to her family. I just read about her professional journey. Much admiration and respect for being persistent and unwavering, and for her contributions to journalism.

We remember the time she interviewed our family in Palo Alto.... She was such a role model for me and so many other African American women in the media. Thanks for your inspiration.

Belva Davis was a role model for so many but especially Black girls who were having idenity crisis during the 50's and 60's. She supported Black organizations like Annette Bruce's Modeling Academy that taught us how to be women with grace and charm. She supported the Miss Bronze Beauty Contest that celebrated Black beauty and for me personally encouraged me to become a journalist and writer. I was lucky enough to work with Belva at KPIX TV and alongside her for many years while I was at AFTRA. She was always so supportive of so many things, especially people she knew and cared about. Through her got to meet the wonderful Bill Moore and oh, what a couple they made. My heart is with you, Bill, and all the family.

To the family of Belva Davis, as I give my deepest condolences to the family, my eyes are starting to water. I am a native San Francisco and she is a part of my childhood. I grew up watching her, and admiring her as did my entire family and I am so sad to hear she has gone on to heaven. She was a trailblazer and gave many a little black girl like me something to Aspire to and I just pray for God's peace and comfort only he can give. Truly a trailblazer for so many women in journalism. One of the early black women TV jouralist. She set the pattern and opened doors for many that followed after her.
