BEN TATAR

I really feel we should have some form of Ben's book published. I had helped him work on it many years ago, and it stuck with me as a piece of history that should not be lost.

Rest in peace, Ben Tatar, of blessed memory.

I was out of town when I learned of Ben's death and was unable to attend the funeral.

I met Ben at Pitt through Pitt Players and remained friends with him all through the years. For many years he lived in the Kingwell apartment, built by my grandfather. Ben and I used to talk about that. Such a typical Pittsburgh connection.

Ben was a most kind and gentle soul gifted with talent and an exquisite voice. May he rest in peace.

We will all miss Ben Tatar for a very long time. Of course, the Dream Never Dies. Now, who will finally publish his book of the same title?

To the family of Ben Tatar,
I remember Ben as an old classmate of his at Schenley High School. A great guy, fun to be around. My memories include social events with him, the days he worked at a soda fountain in Oakland, and many years later seeing him at Schenley reunions. I'm glad I got to see him perform at Carnegie-Mellon and have lunch with him afterward. He will be sadly missed.

It was an honor to have worked with this veritable legend when I was JCC Theatre Chair and to have acted for this font of wisdom when he directed "Beau Jest" and to have ordered a creative puzzle from him. He will certainly be missed. - Jeff Pollock, Esq., Sq. Hill

So sorry to hear about the loss of your uncle. He was a very intersting man with many stories. I have known him for a long time from coming to our office. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Ben, being your friend not only while living in Pittsburgh but while visiting from Ft. Lauderdale was always something I looked forward to. You were enjoyable & pleasant to be with, and quite interesting to listen to, especially those dramatic life experiences. Ben, my friend, you will certainly be missed but never forgotten. May you forever rest in peace.

Im so sorry to hear this. Mr tatar was a great man and touched many people with his personality as well as with his career. Rest with god you will be deeply missed!

Ben was a fascinating man and a terrific friend. He truly lived his dreams, having a wild career that spanned several decades. His friendship meant the world to me. I miss him already.

You were 17!years old when I was born and have always been an inspiration for independence, self expression, acceptance of all people and compassion.
