A big guy with an easy smile and a glint in his eye. A great person to have on your side, leading a charge, going all out.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Ben's passing - my condolences to Ben's family and many friends who have lost a much loved gentle and kind man.
For a few of us who knew Ben during his youth and teen years growing up in Winchester – we can feel a warmth for Ben at this sad time by envisioning that Ben can now return to his days of double-black diamond trails, slap shots past the goalie on his glove hand, crushed line drives resulting in easy stand-up doubles (from the left :) ), lots of swimming, booming shots off the tee ( from the left :) ), and rushing the football across the goal line.
During a ninth grade baseball game – during a lefty pitcher against lefty batter matchup – with the pitch put perfectly inside to jam you on the inside ( Benedict ) – you adjusted – stepping back a bit in the batter's box – crushing that ball to left field with an inside-outside swing and damn near hit the Gibbons house at Loring Field. Grab your glove – your new teammates will love your arriving to join in on the game.
