Benita Kay Caldwell Gateley

Benita Kay Caldwell Gateley, of Louisville, TN passed away on December 31,2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Boyd and Mary Caldwell, of Memphis, Tennessee and brother Billy Caldwell of Athens, Alabama. Survivors include husband Royce, daughter Amanda (Justin) Lane, daughter Rhonda of Milan, Tennessee, son Jeff (Danielle) of Walkertown, North Carolina, grandsons Joshua, Aaron, and Jacob Lane, Ezra and Elijah Gateley, granddaughter Gracie Gateley, aunt Margie (Jerry) Vales of Toonie, Tennessee, and many other dearly loved extended family members.

Ms. Benita loved spending time with her family and her Beech Grove Baptist Church family, especially the children and youth Bible Drillers and the preschool Sunday School class. She taught both groups of children for years.

Benita received a B.S. in mathematics and a M.S. in computer science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was an avid Tennessee Volunteer supporter, especially of the Lady Vols.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Beech Grove Baptist Church (1519 Topside Road, Louisville, TN 37777). A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Ebenezer Baptist Church (3830 Ebenezer Rd., Toone, Tennessee) with the service to follow at 2:00 PM. The interment will follow at the church cemetery.
