Benjamin Craddock Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 18, 2023.
Benjamin Dallas Craddock, "Benji", passed away on December 7, 2023, in San Antonio, TX, at the age of 44. He was born on May 11, 1979 in Princeton, IL. Benji was a loving family man who adored spending time with his wife and four children. They often embarked on weekend trips to parks, out-of-town adventures, and camping in state parks.

Benji will be deeply missed by his wife, Rossanne, and their children: daughters Ellie, Kayla, Rhea, and son Harrison. He is also survived by his father, Harry, and his brother Todd, along with his sister-in-law, Jamie, his sister Colleen, along with his brother-in-law Chris and many nieces and nephews. Benji's mother, Paulette, preceded him in death.

In terms of education, Benji graduated from Obion County High School and went on to earn a Masters Degree in Psychology with a minor in Statistics from the University of Tennessee. He began his career at Accenture and steadily rose through the ranks to become a Business Interlock Lead for Demand Strategy and Analytic Project Manager.

Outside of work, Benji spent much of his time reading. A few of his favorite authors included Alexander Dumas, J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert Jordan. A purveyor of dad jokes, he would often be found telling jokes frequently eliciting eyerolls and giggles from his daughters and wife. Benji loved sports including baseball and his beloved New York Yankees. He was a devoted lifelong fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, and rarely missed a UT football game. His enthusiasm echoed through the house as he joyfully sang "Rocky Top" when Tennessee scored. Benji was also a prolific lifelong gamer. Amongst the company of his friends, he would lose himself in the exploration of other worlds. Benji's excitement was contagious, as was his witty humor that never failed to draw a laugh from those he interacted with. As a respected member of UDL, the longest-running online gaming community, he has left a lasting mark for over a decade. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. He had a unique bond with each of his children. He enjoyed books with Ellie, music with Rhea, games with Kayla and wrestling with Harrison. He even graciously accompanied his wife to various tropical destinations, even though his preference was to always travel North.

Benjamin Dallas Craddock will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his successful career, and his love for gaming, football and reading. He leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.

It has been a gift to know Benji. I have been Benji's career counselor for 3 years, and we worked very closely over the last year. Like many have said, Benji was a no-nonsense guy whose can-do attitude stood out among his peers. He accomplished much and always strove to be an asset to the team (which he very much was). But with all of his diligent work and loyalty to the team and company, there was never any doubt that his priorities were focused in the right place - on his wife and kids. I admired that most about Benji. We've lost him way too soon, and my heartfelt condolences go out to his dear friends and family. I will be celebrating Benji's life with you all from afar.

The first time I heard Benji´s voice on a call, I smiled. His unique style always gave me comfort in his self-assured confidence! We worked together for only a few months, but it felt like this was someone I´d known for a long time! His dry humor and unique expressions, combined with his electric "can do" attitude was always refreshing. And whenever I am shaky, his voice will remind me never to "go off kilter" :). He will be missed dearly!

Benji and I worked together for the longest time in Accenture as parts of various teams in the past ten years. I've known Benji to be resourceful, hardworking and extremely honest in his interactions. This is an immense loss to anyone who knew Benji. My heart goes out to his family as they navigate this difficult time.

Dear Benji, thank you for the little things we got to do together. We worked on the BI Community together and it was a pleasure with you. It was always clear though what your priority was - your kids, your wife, your family. You will be missed. Wishing your family much strength - you and they are in my thoughts often. Rust zacht.

I am honored to have known and worked with Benji this past year+. In this time of meeting and connecting with people virtually, we hit it off from the start. I was fortunate enough to meet Benji in person when I traveled to Texas last year and together with my husband, we spent an evening full of laughter and fun. At work, Benji would ask me "are you sure we can do that", and I would tell him that we were making "executive decisions" which would make him laugh AND shake his head at me. Whenever I had a question or was unsure about something, Benji was one of my "go to" people. He was always willing to share his knowledge and expertise.

There are people you meet in your lifetime who leave a lasting impression. Benji has left an impression that I treasure.

I wish peace and love to all that knew him and miss him.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet an work with Benji, he was my numbers guy and a friend. I loved his dry humor and witt - never a dull conversation. I honestly cannot believe you have left this world - you will leave a big old hole friend - I am sure you would just say - " Well put a tree in it". Rest well my friend x

I will always remember my dear friend Benji, he was so much more than a colleague, we got to know each other on a personal level as we worked closely together for many years. I know how much he loved his family, and how devoted he was to his wife and wonderful children. I will miss him so much as he leaves a big void, not only in my heart but also with many other HP employees.

May God bless your soul Benji, and give strength to your family to overcome their loss. You will be deeply missed my friend.

Benji always cracked me up! One time he was watching me clean off my driveway from his upstairs office window and texted me to proclaim that watering the concrete was NOT apropos! Benji loved banter and always made me laugh. He will certainly be missed by many.

Extremely shocked and still in disbelief. Just 2 weeks before you left this world, we brainstormed and as usual you unraveled the mystery of numbers and made a visible client impact. Always in a positive cheer and I never saw a single frowning line on your face whatever may be the situation.

Work aside, you are gone too soon. God has taken you in his care now. May your family find strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Warm regards,
Sucheetra

My heart was in shock and saddened to hear Benji had been called to be with the Lord at such a young age. He was so full of life and always very fun and witty. I loved him because he loved my niece and their children so very much. Rossanne was happier with him than I´ve seen her since she was a child. It was assurance in my heart that she and the kiddos would always be happy and safe. My prayers are with his father, Rossanne and his children, that they remember the good times and wonderful memories that they formed together and find peace in the time that they were blessed with able to share. I love you Craddock family

Benji. Where do I start? You were the coolest uncle, always cracking jokes, and making people smile, nerding out with me over video games. Your love for your family ran deep, that´s something anyone could see. You were always there for me when I needed someone to talk to who just got what I was going through, no judgement, with your sound advice and words of wisdom. I am sure I´m not the only one who can say that, it was in your nature to help people.
We long debated over which university was "the real UT" Tennessee or Texas, what was the best shade of orange, burnt or (that awful) bright. We shared a love for college football, and we´d always like to see whose team was better at the end of each season, and usually (most years) it was the Vols. The one time we could agree and cheer for the others team was when one of us played aLaBaMa .
I will miss the quick witted remarks about Texas football, the playful banter about "the real UT", but most of all, I will miss our real talks and your caring soul. Rest easy Benji.

I remember stories of Benji when he was very young, his parents would tell us, when at a grocery store he would see a product and break out into the commercial jingle for said product. When he thought of going to Tennessee he spoke with me on a few occasions, I´m an Alumni as well. Knowing he was a Vol fan, it wasn´t too difficult to convince him to go.
I´m still in shock of his passing, my heart felt prayers are with his close knit family. May he find eternal rest.

You´ll be pressed to find a more loyal friend or someone more willing to help you when needed. Benji loved his sports and there was nothing better then getting him riled up over the Yankees or Tennessee. I´ll miss our Dailey sports and banter sessions. He was a family man that adored his wife and kids more then anything in this world and you´d be hard pressed to get him to do anything that would take away time from them. If I knew nothing else about him, knowing his love for Ross and the kids would be enough to know the caliber man he was. Rest easy my friend.

Benji- Love of my life, and soulmate. I don´t think it´s possible for anyone to be as happy as you made me. I worked in our office by your side every single day 8 hours per day, was quarantined with you for 2.5 years, and still constantly craved your presence beside me. No one has had me in the constant state of laughter your jokes and general silliness put me in. You had my back through any and everything with no questions asked. You´d face anyone or do anything to protect me and our children even if I said I didn´t need it. Your absence leaves a huge hole in my heart, but I will continue to love, take-care-of and protect our four until the day I am with you again. I love you more than words can convey.

When I think of Benji, I think first of his love for his family. He was quick to praise his wife and his children with sincere and heartfelt affirmations. A quick second thought is to his witty dry humor. I will always be reminded of this because it is easy to see he inherited this trait from his father and passed it on to his son. He left his mark on this world and will not be forgotten.
