Great football coach at Williston-Elko high school. He gave me my first job helping him with some remodeling at his home.

I went to Latta High School with Benny. He was a year before me. I remember his as kind and a nice person to be around. When I graduated in 1957 I went to the Army the next day. On the way to Vietnam for the second time I stopped by hid school where my daughter was in grade three. He had not changed. He did keep an eye on her. Benny was just a good person. Wish I could have seen him again. David Dean PhD.

Mr. Benny was one of my favorite teachers. I always enjoyed his classes and seeing him at church. He and Mrs. Marcia had a huge impact in my life.

I remember Mr. Hayes so fondly. He was my first principal at Kelley Edwards Elementary and got me started with wise guidance and encouragement.

When I had just graduated from Clemson I found myself chatting with Mr Hayes about my concern that the current minister had a weak understanding of Paul's letters. Benny Hayes gave me my first job as a teacher at Kelly Edwards. I was supposed to be a substitute for two weeks to try it out. I stayed in Williston schools for 17 years. he taught me so much about how to keep your patience with kids. When he had to deal with difficult discipline situations, he would slip outside and do a bit of gardening. Sometimes the student involved would step out with him to help. I am forever grateful for that he gave me that opportunity and taught me so much that came in handy for the gardening of my future. My prayers and condolences to the family.
